70 YEARS OF INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE…
Founded back in 1939 as a private held Canadian company operated by the Stupp family, Process Products was started under the name Production Tool & Fastener and operated as a cutting tool and fastener distributor servicing the commercial marketplace.
In 1972, the company invested in two manufacturing facilities and began producing these parts under the company names of Simon Industries and Precision Fasteners.
In 1978, Process Fasteners (PF) was created as a distributor of ASTM and ASME certified and quality controlled bolting, adding the nuclear industry as its core competency. PF implemented one of the first quality programs of its kind in North America in order to provide complete testing, inspection, traceability and full documentation in the form of Certified Material Test Reports on all of its products.
In 1981, The Global Supplier Development and Auditing program was created and the company began importing ASME and ASTM Certified Bolting from Japan, Korea and Western Europe. Over the period 1981- 1991, The Process Fastener division continued to grow and it was clear that the company’s strengths and future resided in the specialty fastener market. Production and Process Fasteners were amalgamated and became Process Products Limited. The two manufacturing companies were sold.
The former Production Fastener division began to offer value-added services such as JIT to its traditional market customers. The former Process Fastener division focused its energy on critical applications offering higher temperature materials, reverse engineering capability and tighter tolerances of specialized machined components.
The scope of products continued to increase, and in 1994, Process Products invested heavily in CNC machinery and began large scale production in-house of turbine bolting for Westinghouse which later became Siemens. In 1994, the company was also certified to ISO 9002-94 to offer greater quality assurance to customers.
The company now focuses its efforts on contract rather than in-house manufacturing, and we continue to expand our product offering and focus on value-added services that ensure mutually beneficial supplier relations.
